Maria showed up in Calgary with almost no warning. I can see others of our kind, when they arrive; they move differently in my visions than humans do. They’re crisper, just like they are in real life—superhuman. Brighter colors. Easily detectable movement.
I always see them coming.
Except for that one time.
~End of Part I~
Okay, HEY! 😀
I got an alert in my email for this a while ago, so I dropped everything and started reading. I like it, love it. It’s a bit confusing, but easy to follow, too. The ‘1-16 Forks, Washington’ chapter…is that in the future? or reality? ’cause it doesn’t seem real.
Also, there’s nothing about fashion in here…anywhere. While I realize that’s not her entire life, but this is Alice.
I’m currently leaning toward the idea that Part 1 is completely filled with visions. I don’t know how to explain, but it feels that way. You know you probably won’t tell me if I’m right, so please update soon. 🙂
Other than that, I love how your Alice seems…mature, and not the teenage-girl-on-a-sugar-high Alice that I’ve read too much of.
Thanks for sharing,
Nikki
Time is a slippery thing for Alice, and so it’s a slippery thing in this fic. I hope it will help to have the locations of each piece, but yes, it’s meant to be “confusing, but easy to follow, too.”
Glad you’re enjoying it, and the next “chapter” (by which I mean 21 sections) will go up on Thursday.
